In India a large number of children are being afflicted by chronic liver diseases, especially viral infections like hepatitis B and C. For example an ongoing study being conducted by CLF reveals a high incidence of Hepatitis B and C among children suffering with Thalassemia.

An increasing number of kids are also being diagnosed with rare conditions like Wilson's disease, Gaucher's disease amongst others. Treatment and investigations of these conditions are expensive, and a vast majority of parents cannot provide their children with adequate treatment due to lack of resources.

There are new emerging treatment options for liver disease but are difficult to access by these patients. Modern drugs can contain or cure liver ailments, thereby improving the quality and longevity of lives of children or young patients.

We would like to appeal to donors - individuals or institutions to come forward to adopt these patients by supporting their treatment for a particular duration / or a course of treatment.

Deserving patients would be selected through a screening process which would include the recommendations for treatment by a specialist, recommendation for support by social worker, based on the prognosis of the disease and an objective assessment of the socio-economic background of the patient.
